Child Safety

RugbyDiva is designed around the best interests of the child. This page explains the technical and practical protections that keep young rugby players safe.

If a child is in immediate danger

Call 999 (or 112) and ask for the police. You can also contact the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000. RugbyDiva is not an emergency service.

Our child-safety promise

RugbyDiva follows the UK ICO Children's Code and UK GDPR principles: best interests of the child, data minimisation, privacy by default, appropriate age assurance, transparency, restricted data sharing and restricted location processing.

Accounts and age

  • Adult Player accounts are only for people aged 18 or over.
  • Children under 18 cannot create an unrestricted adult account. A parent or guardian manages their child's involvement.
  • Age is set during registration and cannot be changed to bypass these protections.
  • We collect only the minimum information needed to run the service.

Privacy by default

All child privacy settings start at the highest protection level. A child's full name, date of birth, address, postcode, personal email, phone number, school, exact location, attendance, private messages and performance information are never shown publicly.

Where a child appears in a team context, only a first name or display name is shown, and only to authorised team members and parents.

Photos and videos

Parents and guardians control whether their child appears in private team photos, club photos, public RugbyDiva pages and marketing. Consent is recorded with the date, consent type and status, and can be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawing consent prevents any future public use. Photo consent is never a condition of taking part.

Adult-to-child contact

Children never have unrestricted private messaging with unknown adults. Direct messaging between adults (club managers) is separate and does not reach children. Team communication is routed through the parent or guardian account and authorised club staff. Coaches and managers only access teams they are authorised to manage.

No public child rankings

RugbyDiva does not publish child rankings, scores, performance tables, popularity rankings, follower counts, attendance rankings or achievement comparisons. Achievements and the RugbyDiva Passport are positive and non-competitive.
