Our safeguarding principles
The best interests of the child come first. We design features with children's safety in mind, restrict contact between adults and children, and make reporting easy to find and use.
Child safety by design
Children's contact and personal details are not public. Direct messaging between adults and unrelated children is restricted. Profiles of children do not show contact information. Age-appropriate privacy defaults are applied.
Adult and minor communication
Communication is limited to what is needed for rugby. Managers and coaches may message teams they are responsible for. We do not allow private, unsolicited contact between adults and children who are not connected through a club.
Club manager verification
Club managers are verified by RugbyDiva before they can manage a club or access team information. Verification can be withdrawn.
Coach and staff access
Staff access to player information is limited to their team and role, and is controlled by the verified club manager. Access is removed when a person leaves the role.
Reporting
Anyone can report a concern through Report a Safety Concern. Reports can be made about inappropriate contact, bullying, harassment, grooming, inappropriate images, suspicious adult behaviour, privacy and other concerns.
Blocking
Users can block others. Blocking is bidirectional for safety and stops further contact.
Moderation and inappropriate content
We moderate content and can remove anything that breaks our Community Standards. We may review messages where a safeguarding concern is reported.
Grooming concerns and escalation
Where there are grooming or child sexual exploitation concerns, we preserve evidence and refer to the relevant authorities. Our designated safeguarding lead is [TO BE COMPLETED].
Bullying and harassment
Bullying and harassment are not tolerated. We can suspend or remove accounts. See our Community Standards.
Photos
Photos of children are governed by our Photo & Video Consent policy. We never publish a child's image without appropriate consent.
Evidence preservation
When a serious concern is reported we may preserve relevant records to support an investigation, even where a user requests deletion.
Urgent danger and emergency guidance
RugbyDiva is not an emergency service. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 (police, ambulance or fire) or 112. In a non-emergency, call police on 101. For child safety advice, contact the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000 or the CEOP safety centre at report.cosonlinesafety.com. Always also tell your club's safeguarding lead.
