Photo & Video Policy

Photos and videos help celebrate girls' rugby. They must be shared responsibly. This policy explains the consent required before uploading, especially for children, and how to request removal.

Legal & Safety pages

Our principle

Children and their families have the right to decide whether images of them are taken and shared. Appropriate permission or consent is always required before uploading photos or videos of players — particularly children — to RugbyDiva.

Consent for images of children

Before uploading a photo or video of a child, you must have consent from the child's parent or guardian (or, where appropriate, from the young person themselves). For club activities, follow your club's own photography and consent policy and your governing body's guidance.

  • Only upload images you have permission to share.
  • Do not include a child's full name, date of birth, school or home details with their image.
  • Avoid images that could be used inappropriately — for example, close-ups, changing-room or swimwear-style images are not permitted.
  • Be mindful of children in the background; where practical, avoid identifying children who are not the subject of consent.

Where images appear on RugbyDiva

Team memories (Girls' Zone)

Team memory photos are private by default and only visible to authorised team members and staff. Even so, consent is still required before uploading, and any parent can ask for an image of their child to be removed.

Preloved listings

Preloved listings are public. Do not include images of children in listings. Photos should show the item only.

Clubs, festivals and advertising

Club managers and advertisers must have consent for any images of identifiable people — especially children — and must follow this policy.

What is not allowed

  • Sexualised, inappropriate or exploitative images of children — these will be removed immediately and reported to the authorities.
  • Images taken or shared without consent.
  • Images that embarrass, humiliate or single out a child.
  • Images shared with a child's personal details attached.

Requesting removal

If you are a parent, guardian or the person shown in an image and you would like it removed, you can request removal at any time:

We aim to review and act on removal requests promptly, and where an image of a child is involved we will treat it as a priority.

Reporting inappropriate images

If you see an image that concerns you — particularly anything that might involve a child — please report it immediately. See our Child Safeguarding policy for what to do if a child is at risk.

Storage and access

Team memory images are stored privately and served only to authorised users. Public images (such as club or listing photos) are stored in a way that allows them to be displayed on the platform. We will remove images when requested or where they breach this policy.
